Who is this God?

This blog is inspired by the most recent episode of What’s God Doing!

Hey guys! So, I really felt like God wanted me to share this song I wrote with you. It is a rough draft, but I want to invite you to process with me for a moment:

Who?

Who is this God?

Who is this Father?

Who is this one who sent His only son to die?

Who is this God?

Who is this God?

Who is this Savior?

Who is this one who came to break off all our chains?

Who is this God?

Who is this God?

Who is this Fire?

Who is this one who calls us to repentance?

Who is this God?

He is sovereign.

He is Victory.

He is Justice.

This is our God.

He is Truth.

He is Life.

He is Passion.

This is our God.

Who is this God?

Who is this Artist?

Who is this one who wrapped our spirits inside flesh?

Who is this God?

Who is this God?

Who is this Teacher?

Who is this one who walked in full submission to the Father’s will?

Who is this God?

Who is this God?

Who is this Comforter?

Who is this one who is present in all circumstances?

Who is this God?

He is Creator.

He is wisdom.

He is Omnipresent.

This is our God.

He is Pleasant.

He is Kind.

He is Faithful.

This is our God.

I wrote this song when I needed a perspective change.  In trying to physically make my mind think of who God is, so I could then praise Him, my mind came up with questions. Eventually it worked and my questions turned into worship.  In Psalms 103:1-5 the writer tells himself t0 remember what God has done and to praise Him; sometimes we just need to worship in spite of how we are feeling.

So, instead of giving you the end of the song, I am going to try something new! I would like you to go through this song and prosses who God really is, above all your circumstances. Then in the comments reference Bible verses of praise or of who God is. I would also love it if you would add one of your own testimonies of how He has shown Himself real to you.

I can’t wait to read your comments!  And if you want a glimpse into how to learn more about who God is, check out the video above!

  1. He is redeemer and restorer (Genesis 50:20)!
Also, this section of teaching is so good! Not only does it set up the rest of the teachings very well, but how it is presented makes me so excited!

  2. Thanks EJ for inviting us to consider who God is and marvel at all of His wonder. We will never stop asking and arriving at new answers for the question “Who is God?”

God is Creator and Friend, making adventures and mysteries for us to embark on hand in hand with Him.
