True Biblical faith is not something we “gin up” or work hard to achieve. It is a gift of God, flowing from spending time with Him. Our main purpose as a Christian is not to “be moral” but to walk in the Spirit with God. All things flow from that relationship. – “For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. This is gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one my boast.” – Faith is not about us gathering up will power. It is a gift of God. – Pallid moralism – weak faith that we try to gin up. What’s most mysterious in the human being is the spiritual. – Faith is not an exercise so that we can always get our way and achieve the outcome we want. – Faith is relational, not formulaic, so that we can have faith released in us. – Our main purpose as Christians is not morality, but that we would walk in the Spirit.
