YWAM Virginia is not the result of our own ideas, but steps of obedience towards God’s crazy invitations to “know God and make Him known.”  By actively listening for God’s voice and responding, we’ve not only entered unexpected places, but seen God work in supernatural ways.

Our story spans over four decades; each moment we chose to trust God, He demonstrated His power and love, not just for us but those He had called us to serve.  At every point we had to be willing to hold our plans and hopes loosely, trusting that He “is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20) What may have looked like risk and foolishness to others led to incredible displays of God’s Provision and plan.

A group being willing to plant roots in Virginia (and getting a “castle” for $1!) has become 3 geographic operating locations along the James River, and a new hybrid location that is not bound by geography, instead equipping and serving families around the world.  God has given us ministries ranging from youth programing, to food pantries, to evangelism, to teaching, and He continues to open new ways of serving.

All of this is because of God, not us; He is the one who provided dreams and prophetic words, unexpected provision, and foresight around places and opportunities we couldn’t see.  We want to keep journeying with Him, and want you to join us too.

Who knows… he may just have an unexpected role for you in our story as well!
