God has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
The American Racial Reconciliation Discipleship Training School was spoken to our staff by God during a time of intercession for racial healing. It is designed to equip young people to break down ancient walls of indifference, pride, and deception with the love and truth of God. There is an emphasis on the need for personal one on one friendship and love across ethnic and cultural lines. Racism is a large multi-faceted stronghold, but we know that the Power of God is far greater. Staff and students in this DTS will position themselves in a posture of humility, worship and intercede, establish a culture of honor, stand in the gap in repentance, and take every opportunity to break down racial barriers in individuals and communities.
This is a critical time in the history of the United States and in the Kingdom of God. Not only is Christianity spreading at unprecedented rates, but God is also initiating a second civil rights movement. This time however, instead of reforming laws, he is reforming hearts. Another primary concern is that there is a glaring disparity between the percentage of African American Christians in the US and the percentage of African Americans in the international mission field. We believe that God is calling African Americans to go to the ends of the earth to fulfill the great commission.
We believe African American missionaries are essential and we are committed to giving the invitation to go into all the world. YWAM Virginia is committed to equipping and sending those who will respond. Join us this fall as we journey across the nation to see Jesus exalted among the poor, lost and broken.
Next school TBD.
DTS Teaching Topics Include:
So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:16-18 NIV)
Real students. Real learning.
